Delete Your Account & Data

You can delete Your moonbelt account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This is operated by OriginMind Inc., the developer of the moonbelt app. You do not need an active subscription to delete Your account.
Option 1: Delete in the app (fastest)
Open the moonbelt app and go to Profile → App Settings → Delete Account, then confirm. This deletes Your account and data immediately. There is no grace period and it cannot be undone, so if You want to keep a copy, use Export My Data in App Settings before You delete.
Option 2: Request deletion without the app
If You no longer have the app installed, email privacy@moonbelt.ai from the email address linked to Your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will verify Your identity and process the request.
What gets deleted
Deleting Your account removes it and the data below from moonbelt right away, and this cannot be reversed. Copies held in our backups are fully erased within 30 days. The data covered:
- Your profile (name, email, profile photo)
- Health Data (date of birth, gender, weight, height, goals, dietary restrictions, eating style, allergies, disliked ingredients, and cuisine preferences)
- Meal, drink, supplement, and water logs, meal photos, meal plans, voice input, steps, workouts, sleep, and progress history
- Messages to the AI coach and AI coach memory
- Push notification tokens and nutrition insights
What we retain, and for how long
A limited set of records remains after account deletion:
- Deletion record: a minimal record that the deletion was requested and completed, identified only by a one-way hash of Your account ID, so we can show the request was honoured.
- Usage analytics and crash logs: not deleted immediately. Crash logs expire within 90 days and analytics data within 24 months, and in practice sooner.
- Subscription and billing records: our copy is deleted with Your account. Purchase records are held by the Apple App Store or Google Play and by our subscription management provider, under their own retention policies.
- Records required to comply with legal obligations: retained only as long as the law requires.
- Shared food database contributions: generic food entries and product photos You contributed to moonbelt's shared food database contain no personal information and may remain available to other users. On deletion they are de-identified (the internal link to Your account is removed).
- Nutrition label photos: photos of nutrition labels You scanned are kept in private storage as evidence for the catalog entry and are never shown to other users. On deletion they are de-identified in the same way.
These records are not used to re-identify You or to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
